They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know, for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Comment: Jesus was not making a public announcement about His coming death. He was talking to his disciples whom, we are told, did not understand what He was saying. Did that make Him a bad teacher? The seed thought planted earlier was here watered. It is not surprising to any of us, even living after the resurrection event, that they couldn’t grasp the concept in its entirety. But, as we will see tomorrow it had stirred their imaginations and no doubt was remembered well after Jesus was killed and rose again.
Prayer: Thank You for coming and being prepared to be the sacrifice truly paying for our sins.
