Psalm 46: 1-5….A faith statement.

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.

Comment: I can picture the head of a family, after the evening meal, sitting very comfortably, in front of a fire. They have just had a reading from the Bible and just before he prays he wants to encourage his offspring to be settled in their faith. So he says ‘Even if the whole of life were to collapse around us God is here and trustworthy! No matter if WWIII starts and everything collapses, God has showered good things on us! And He will not run away. Things may look bad but in the morning you’ll find that God is still there.’

Prayer: Come hell or high-tide help me to be confident in You, Father God.
