Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”
2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse, and every living thing died that was in the sea.
4 The third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel in charge of the waters say,
“Just are you, O Holy One, who is and who was,
for you brought these judgments.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
and you have given them blood to drink.
It is what they deserve!”
7 And I heard the altar saying,
“Yes, Lord God the Almighty,
true and just are your judgments!”
Comment: Today we read what the first 3 angels bearing ‘bowls of God’s wrath pour out on the earth. The effects of these sound horrific but the effects are not described in modern medical or scientific terms. What are the sores? Is this an epidemic – maybe an effect of getting the mark of the beast? I really don’t know but this record definitely states that only those who bear the mark indicating their subjection to the anti-God beast suffer. The second and third angels convert all the water to blood. We are told that this is because of the martyrdom of so many of God’s followers. Some have said that there have been recently worldwide 100,000 Christians martyred per year This figure has been questioned but the lowest figure I read is about 5,000 per year. I would question this number as being too low. My reasons? Because the majority of Western countries have now turned to be anti-Jew and anti-Christian! And in some African and Asian counties we not infrequently hear of hundreds being slaughtered in a day! Remember to God every follower of His is ‘His child’, and precious! Heaven declares God’s judgements as accurate and just!
Prayer: While there is still an opportunity to repent please help Your followers to be about the business of witnessing by both life and lip, Father!
