Mark 6: 53-56…A busy time schedule!

When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore. And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately recognized him and ran about the whole region and began to bring the sick people on their beds to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.

Comment: Jesus life was busy, busy, busy! And here on the northern and north- western shores of the Lake Galilee, when He arrives Jesus is massed by crowds bringing the sick of all descriptions for Him to heal. It was near here that He had fed the 5,000, so no doubt the flame of His fame had been gossiped and fanned by the community! The concept of being healed by just a ‘faith-touch’ of His garments is quite frankly foreign to our modern minds. If we get past our preconceived ideas we can focus on His Personality, their need, and the central place of faith when we walk the Jesus’ Way.

Prayer: I would grow in knowledge, wisdom and faith in You, Lord Jesus.

  1. Thank you Barry for your comments on this passage. It must have been such an unusual time when Jesus was living on this earth, mixing with the crowds, healing people from every disease, even when they touched His garment. How absolutely incredibly amazing. God incarnate. God bless you.
