Acts 5: 39c-42….Set free they carry on preaching.

So they took his advice, and when they had called in the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonour for the name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.

Comment: Gamaliel’s suggestion won the day and the followers of Jesus are set free although warned not to preach. They had clearly said that they wouldn’t obey that order and didn’t. Following on the thought of Gamaliel’s argument, this must be the work and way of God. Instead of fading out, in spite of continued intense opposition, the church continues to grow two thousand years later!

Prayer: Thank You, Thank You, Jesus.
