Genesis 8: 1-5….A brief summary of a 5 month drenching!

But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided. The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained, and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of 150 days the waters had abated, and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

Comment: It must have been difficult keeping the floating zoo clean. We are told that they had fodder on board and as there was no 24/7 open for their convenience I guess that somehow they drank some of the bountiful rain. If Mrs Noah was a conscientious house wife she must have been tempted often to tear her hair out. Doing God’s will isn’t always easy! But eventually the ark settled on a mountain top. The brief summary of this passage is somewhat expanded tomorrow!

Prayer: Again I ask You to help me learn the lessons which You are trying to teach me as I read Your Book, O God.
