Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?” Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.” He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.
Comment: The sequence which we have followed over the last few days is as follows.
- It begins with a life question – why is the man blind? Have we not all asked many questions about the ‘whys’ of life?
- A good thing is done for the blind man – a blessing is bestowed. How many God given blessings do all of us have?
- He was asked who did the healing for him. – most, if not all of us have queried our origins, Creation and even who is the Giver of life.
- Questioned, he told what he knew about Jesus – most of us have heard people give testimony about Jesus either with words or their life-style.
- His story was doubted and questioned – skepticism is rife these days when talking about Jesus.
- He met Jesus and learning more truly believed as to who Jesus was.- seeking to know more about Jesus is a good thing – I have found that finding Jesus at this level makes life into LIFE.
Prayer: Thank You God for sending Jesus!
