Proverbs 8: 1-11….Fools Beware!

Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?
On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;
beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:
“To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.
O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense. Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right, for my mouth will utter truth;
wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are righteous;
there is nothing twisted or crooked in them. They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.
Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.

Comment: There are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs in the Bible. It is part of what is called by Jewish Rabbis and Christian theologians (and in my opinion by all sensible people) part of the Biblical ‘wisdom literature’. 31 chapters mean that if starting with chapter 1 on the first of the month and reading one daily until the end of the month, whether it be a 28 or 30 or 31 day month, a person of the reading family will get 12 times every year a dose of excellent ‘wisdom literature’! If taken to heart and mind it would lead to a fair percentage of those practicing this idea being much better people! I suggest that you go back and read this portion again!

Prayer: Please, please, God bring a revival of true turning to You, and people following Jesus in humility learning and practicing true wisdom! For surely, Father, that makes society better and leads along the Narrow, but glorious, Way to Heaven.
