Proverbs 15: 23-33….Living every day aright!

To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is! – Your feel good when you say the right and appropriate thing!
The path of life leads upward for the prudent, that he may turn away from Sheol beneath. –
It is especially good if you get one to leave their wrong way and ‘rescue’ them from hell!
The LORD tears down the house of the proud but maintains the widow’s boundaries. –
the judgments of God aren’t always immediate but they are ‘for sure’!
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, but gracious words are pure. –
Thinking wrongly is dreadfully bad. But even more important is that people hear what is ‘True Blue’ – straight and clear!
Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live. –
Selfish greediness and bribery ‘stink to High Heaven’!
The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. –
In different ways Solomon says this over and over again. Good on him for it is so, so important!
The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. –
This puts the lie to the concept that God hears prayers if the attitude isn’t right!
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes the bones. –
Both seeing good things and hearing good news cheers the spirit of people!
The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise. –
no comparison in this proverb – straight from the shoulder ‘If you want to be wise listen to sound advice!
Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence. –
Don’t cause your own stunted growth! Listen and learn!
The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
‘Comes before’ means that honor maybe is what many desire, but humility wins hands down! And Solomon ends with what we have heard him say a zillion times, ‘The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom.’

Prayer: I hear so clearly what Your Word say, O God, but help me to keep my vision fixed on You and Your way!
