Selected verses : Fools can mean different things….

Ps 14 1c The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”There is a period in the life of many people when they hassle with issues of eternity and they may doubt who is, or if there is, a Supreme Being. This passage isn’t referring to them but to those who after honestly looking at the heavens, considering all the blessings of life and having read history and the heard the stories of what God can and does do and even seen lives which He has gloriously changed still end up saying ‘There is no God’. It also includes those who for some reason or other can’t get beyond thinking of themselves and what centres around themselves. They act out what the previously mentioned group verbalize!

Luke 12 20 But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’The story centred around a man who is a committed narcissist! These fools are those who choose to stuff their bellies or their pockets and see life as nothing more than ‘eating, drinking and being merry’.

Luke 24 25&26 “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?”These fools are those who know the facts don’t take the last step of believing and committing to them in faith! Cleopas and his friend had been in Jerusalem, knew of the Crucifixion of Jesus and had heard of the resurrection but were unable to believe what they had heard. Praise God they met Jesus and stopped being ‘fools’.

1Cor 4 10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, If you choose to follow Jesus many will see you as a fool, although you are something very different!

Prov 1 20-22 Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice;
at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?
In proverbs ‘fool’ doesnt refer to IQ but to those who reject Christ Jesus, the Wisdom of God!

Prayer: Please help me to choose the right kind of fool to be!
