Galatians 6: 1-5….The summing up begins.

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbour. For each will have to bear his own load.

Comment: Being careful that you don’t fall into similar mistakes (transgressions) stand beside and restore those who do fall. Temptation is very real!

Don’t be so self-important or self-righteous that you can’t bend down and help another with their problems and burdens. Don’t fool yourself as to who you are but be real – let your behaviour prove your worth!

Each individual should seek to come to the place where living under the control of the Spirit, he doesn’t have to rely on comparing himself to others but can humbly. faithfully walk in God’s way. The Law of Christ is the way of LOVE.

Prayer: Help me to walk beside my fellow Christians in such a way that I am not self-righteous, but a true friend.

  1. Thank you Barry for your comments on this passage. Being a true friend, being supportive to those who need love and support is very important for Christians. Showing God’s love through loving others. But being very careful not to be tempted by the devil at the same time. I remember a little saying which a friend wrote in my Autograph Book many years ago. “True friends are like diamonds, precious and rare. False ones are like autumn leaves, found everywhere.” God bless you.
