Galatians 6: 6-10…Some do’s and do not’s.

Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Comment:

  • Don’t forget that teachers need to be fed.
  • Don’t be fooled – you get/reap what you sow. Bad living (living just for this world) leads to corruption both physical and with hell to follow. Good living (following the Spirit) leads to eternal life.
  • Don’t give up. You don’t pick the crop until the harvest has grown and ripened.
  • Doing ‘good’ is fundamentally important not to get salvation but to live out the character of Christ.

Prayer: It all sounds so simple Father, but help me to put it into practice, please.

  1. Thank you Barry for your comments on the passage. “And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap what we sow, if we do not give up.” I believe that this is the key to this passage. “He endures to the end will be saved.” We need to persevere in following Jesus, and not give up, or give in. Keep on keeping on, is the one thing we need to remember to do. God bless you.
