Psalm 32: 1-5….Confession.

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

Comment: If you made a list of words that are very meaningful to you, what would be in the first five. Depending on the day, the list and the order of it might vary but I am sure for me that ‘forgiveness’ would always be near the top. Here David loudly exclaims what forgiveness means to him, and what life is like without it! And twice we have the word ‘selah’ which is apparently a word hard to translate. Apparently it is close to the Hebrew word for rock. And forgiven is a good solid place on which to be found. A good number of people say that it means something like – ‘stop, and think about that!’ These days a lot of people claim that they don’t believe in God. Yet I wonder how many are approaching the end and don’t wonder how they will face the final test? Forgiveness is a very good rock to stand on.

Prayer: The Bible says that we all will have to give You an account for out living. Give me the grace to hear well Your Truth, O God.
