Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him.
You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
Comment: ‘The rush of great waters’ means floods of trouble tumbling over someone. These 2 verses are a short passage in which David is speaking to God on behalf of ‘good’ people. He is asking God to challenge people to pray for forgiveness and the protection which is to be known for the forgiven. He then gives his own testimony of his dealings with God. And then again we have that word ‘selah’ with its challenge to stop and think seriously about all of this.
Prayer: Help me to never be too busy to be honest to You, O God!
