Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. Comment: Presumably blinded by the intensity of the light from heaven Saul is led into Damascus. I doubt if any of the believers would have been happy to have this arch-persecutor of the faith brought to their house. The people who were with him were not followers of Jesus but he was taken to the house of Judas. I wish that I knew more about this Judas, maybe he was one of those travelling with Saul. At any rate God prepared one of Jesus followers, Ananias by name, to go and restore Saul’s sight. Ananias wasn’t too keen on the idea of going to this persecutor but God said ‘go, I’ve sorted things out for you.’
Prayer: Help me to understand that if I call You ‘Lord’, I must answer ‘yes’ to Your commands.
