Introduction: I have quoted the whole of chapter 12 but printed it in three colours because I believe that we have three different, although related, thoughts highlighted! a) Thoughts about a pregnant woman, her adversary and what happened at the time of the male child’s birth. b) War in heaven between Good and Evil forces.Continue reading “Revelation 12: 1-6….Do the colours mark thought divisions?”

Revelation 11: 15-19….Back in Heaven again.
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.” 16 And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their facesContinue reading “Revelation 11: 15-19….Back in Heaven again.”
Rev 10: 8-11: 3…Is this book a straight line story?
11 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, “Go, take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.” 9 So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll. AndContinue reading “Rev 10: 8-11: 3…Is this book a straight line story?”
Mark 9: 1-13….A foretaste of heaven!
1 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”– Although in the ESV v1 fits in with quite a long talk that Jesus was making in ch 8 about HisContinue reading “Mark 9: 1-13….A foretaste of heaven!”
Isaiah 41: 21-29….A Jury scene!
Introduction: I suggest that you read the passage twice – firstly ignoring my comments, which are in green, and secondly as if the green words are part of the passage. But don’t forget that the green is not scripture but my thoughts which helped me to understand the flow of the passage better! The Lord,Continue reading “Isaiah 41: 21-29….A Jury scene!”
Psalm 84: 1-12….Be honest with God!
Introduction: I am going to go through this psalm and make a ‘polite, nice’ comment in green and a fiery, biting, critical one in red! I’m not in a bad mood but I feel like commenting as if I have wakened up ‘grumpy and doubting’ and ‘at peace with the world’! In fact I’m challengedContinue reading “Psalm 84: 1-12….Be honest with God!”
Revelation 9: 1-12….Overview time.
Introduction: As those of you who regularly read these devotionals, will have worked out for yourselves that almost every eighth day I change between Psalms, an Old Testament and a New Testament book. At special times in the church calendar I will deviate a bit for a few days. I am doing a review todayContinue reading “Revelation 9: 1-12….Overview time.”
Revelation 8: 1-13….Trumpet Blasts Begin.
1 When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given muchContinue reading “Revelation 8: 1-13….Trumpet Blasts Begin.”
Revelation 7: 9-17….A stringing together of magnificent phrases!
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to ourContinue reading “Revelation 7: 9-17….A stringing together of magnificent phrases!”
Revelation 6: 12-7: 9…Action begins to happen!
12 When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. 14 TheContinue reading “Revelation 6: 12-7: 9…Action begins to happen!”
